CIAS Student Profile: New Media Design (draft)


Abigail Lee, Ethelia Lung, and Sam Tochelli discuss their New Media capstone Team Projects, which  involve collaboration between New Media Design and New Media Development majors to create an interactive experience. Team members share their experiences with problem solving, team work, and creating their first built-out project. Teams work all year on their projects and present them at Imagine RIT.

CIAS Student Profile: Photography (draft)


Sam Kang, Rose White, and Dylan McCallum are juniors in the Advertising Photography program in the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences. The group shares their experience working on their AD2 campaign. Their project features gender non-conforming models using Sephora cosmetics to create looks for their own empowered self-expression. The group discusses their inspiration for the campaign and their passion for photography.

People Have Power by Traci Westcott


Seth Faergolzia is a local artist and musician from Rochester, NY. He created a protest spoken-word performance piece shortly after the 2016 Election. Angered by the results and the division of the country, he wanted to unite and empower people. Learning of a 360-video opportunity, we collaborated to create a one-shot performance piece and invited local friends and family to join with us.

Roc City Roller Derby by Catherine Rafferty


Roc City Roller Derby is the first all-women flat track derby team in Rochester, NY. Each skater has a unique derby name and experience of the sport and community. Listen as the skaters describe what derby culture means to them while you view the warm up and scrimmage in 360 degrees.

A Model Railroad by David Lopez


In 1989, the Rochester Model Railroad Club began bringing enthusiasts, friends and families together. With amazing attention to detail and an innovative use of technology, this hidden treasure of a place has a dreamlike atmosphere and has been a mecca for model train enthusiasts in the region. This project brings a little piece of that experience to a larger public.

RIT Baja by Matteo Bracco

This project focuses on the developments of the RIT Baja SAE Racing team. By building up and training with their new 2018 vehicle they built themselves, they hope to have a strong finish at multiple design and race competitions.

This Is It by Sínclaír Lenard


Katherine, a company dancer at the Rochester City Ballet, talks about being a storyteller and how her journey towards becoming a principal dancer all began.  We see her free styling, stretching and perfecting her technique as this is the side of being a ballerina that she states she needs the most work in.

Upstate by Ian Loomis


This project provides a 360 experience of small towns throughout Western New York. I focused on aspects of each small town that made them unique, showcasing each town center and other areas of interest nearby. The main goal of my project is to share the experience of the Finger Lakes regions and inform viewers about them from a travel & education perspective.

The Sunken Garden by Hannah Bolliger

A behind-the-scenes look at a location photo shoot at the Sunken Garden. The clothing in this fashion shoot was inspired by the 60’s era. Hannah Muhic, the model, was energetic and fun to work with. Watch closely to see how a photo shoot can play out as well as how quickly you have to move in order to avoid bad weather conditions.
